Event Description

Knowing a few legal basics can make the difference between a shelved project collecting dust and a successful film release. Legal issues arise in every aspect of film production.  This workshop, led by media and entertainment attorney Laura Possessky, is designed to help filmmakers identify legal issues and develop a toolkit to navigate challenges as they arise.  Participants will engage in interactive discussions on business structures, production risks, rights clearances, distribution and best practices.

LEVEL I/II
While this program is primarily intended for documentary filmmakers, some of the topics (copyright, contracts, and business law) will be applicable to all filmmakers.

DOCS INSIDERS DISCOUNT AND ALL-ACCESS PASSHOLDER COMPS
If you are a member of the Docs Insiders program, you can get a 20% discount on the registration fees for this workshop if you register by the Earlybird or Regular deadlines. If you are an All-Access Passholder, registration is required but is at no additional cost to you. If you missed our e-mail with the promo code, please reach us at contact AT docsinprogress DOT org to get it.
