Docs In Progress is seeking submissions for our July 19 Docs In the City
While we have been programming Work-in-Progress screenings for more than 14 years, Docs In The City
takes this program to the next level. Not only can you get feedback on your rough cut from a smart and savvy audience, but also from a seasoned filmmaker who has produced a film on a similar theme.
We are looking for submissions of short or feature length documentaries-in-progress (up to 60 minutes) which explore the theme of identity. Films should be at an almost-finished stage (rough cut or fine cut) where the storyline is clear but the film is not yet at picture lock. Please do not submit trailers or finished films.
If selected, you will be invited to join us on Thursday, July 19 in Washington DC for a screening of your work-in-progress followed by a facilitated feedback session from award-winning filmmaker Grace Lee
and an audience made up of a mix of filmmakers and documentary afficionados.
If the filmmaker is from outside of the Washington DC area, Docs In Progress will provide accommodations and will reimburse travel from within the United States for one representative (preferably director or producer) of the film.
The deadline to submit your film is June 1, 2018. SUBMIT NOW.
This program is organized by Docs In Progress with the support of the National Endowment for the Arts.
